This LAP is available free of charge! Click here for details. We are indebted to the Daniels Fund for its support of many curriculum and instructional tools throughout our store.
Increased self-esteem, more meaningful relationships,
improved group morale…the benefits of giving praise are practically endless. In
this LAP students will learn how to give effective recognition, helping them
develop the leadership and interpersonal skills that they need to succeed in
the modern workplace. For example, in the Gray Zone, students will examine the
case of a restaurant manager who feels that praise is unnecessary – and
determine for themselves just how important recognition really is.
LAPs are comprehensive instructional packages that include all elements of a performance-oriented lesson plan. This LAP includes a student handout (with CopyIT! permission) that includes information about recognizing/rewarding others, a (So What?) discussion of why it's important to learn, and a short (Gray Zone) case addressing ethical issues. The instructor section features a comprehensive discussion guide, complete practice- (short answer) and post-tests (multiple-choice) with descriptive keys, student activities, and more.
Available as either a black-and-white hard copy or as a digital download. As an added bonus for purchasing the download, instructors will receive a second version of the student guide—in color and designed specifically for use on electronic devices. This additional student guide contains all of the same key components as included in the black-and-white hard-copy LAP but is easier for instructors to share with students via email, shared drive, or learning management system and easier for students to view and read electronically. Bring your discussions to life with our PowerPoint presentation software that includes a broad range of graphics and special effects to help keep students interested. This professionally produced presentation consists of 17 slides.
